Muddy paws walk on the wall
To trail a path behind,
Nimble footed as they fall
On prey in slash or kind.Crouching low, the shadows melt
All traces of the scene,
A silent one with claws of felt
Its silken pelt agleam.The butterfly that fluttered by
Lies on the table still,
The one my cat plucked from the sky
For me a present, if you will.
