Between the gushing trains,
At Mahalaxmi station near
The galloping of reins.A mosaic of kaju katli
Made with diamonds of all hues,
Bursting out through this melee-
Embracing flight for hooves.
This is probably my favourite wall mural done till date:
the horse that learnt to fly.
I painted this in October 2016, part of the ‘Hamara Station Hamari Shaan’ project. This was an initiative by the N.G.O.’s Mumbai First and M.A.D. – Making A Difference Foundation.
The aim of this Daan Utsav was to clean-up and beautify the various railway stations along the Central and Western railway lines of Mumbai.
